The Cotswolds are at the centre of the international eventing world, home to the former Olympic eventer Princess Anne at Gatcombe Park and polo player Prince Charles at Highgrove.

As well as showjumping, equestrian events in the surrounding area include Point to Point racing, dressage, showing and great jump racing with Gold Cup week at the foremost National Hunt Racecourse in the town of Cheltenham.
